September 30, 2008,

Thanks so much for the lovely lap quilts that you gave us. They will be shared between my department, Case Management, and the members of our Day Center. Case Management clients are mostly low-income, homebound elders living in their own homes with problems that daily challenge their ability to remain independent. They will be delighted to receive the lap quilts and will truly make use of them. The members of the Day Center all have some form of dementia, and the quilts will give them comfort, as well, as the weather cools. Both groups will enjoy the warmth and beauty of your work.

I was especially pleased when Melissa pointed out that you had made sure to remember the men with some of your prints, too. That was especially kind and thoughtful. All of the quilts are so unique and lovely, and so beautifully made. Nothing expressed care as handwork done with such patience and love. Please know how proud we will be to take these to our clients, and tell them that you and your friends have remembered them in such a special way.

Sincerely,
Jan Edwards, LCSW
Director of Case Management
