Challenge Quilt

The starting pistol has sounded and we’re off…. the winning choice was fantastic -- "Houston Undercover: A Quilt Show”. The challenge possibilities are wide open as any quilt is 'undercover'. For those members who are endowed with the gift of soaring imaginations - well, the sky is the limit. So with a title in hand, we're now able to get our ads out to the national magazines and hopefully allow you plenty of time to start planning your entries. Next month, the specific entry guidelines will be available for all categories. While you are full of inspiration, here they are:

2009 “Houston Undercover: A Quilt Show”

Challenge Quilt Guidelines

1. Create a quilt using the word Undercover as your inspiration.

2. The quilt must have 3 layers and there must be quilting connecting the layers.

3. The edges must be finished, but the finish does not have to be a traditional binding.

4. The piece may have added dimension and may be embellished with the material(s) of your choice.

5. Size: To allow as much freedom as possible, any shape quilt is allowed. The circumference of the outside finished edge (binding edge) should be no less than 60 inches and no greater than 240 inches. For example: a 15”x15”quilt= 60” and a 60”x60” quilt = 240”.

6. Quilts must have a 4” sleeve or 4” tabs for hanging.
